Parcel Forwarding from the UK to Turkiye

The UK is home to one of the largest Turkish communities in Europe, and the connection between the two countries drives strong demand for UK goods across Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya and beyond. UK fashion, cosmetics, technology and specialty products attract consistent interest from Turkish shoppers — many of whom use UK parcel forwarding services to access brands that are either unavailable locally or significantly more expensive in Turkiye. Send2Hub gives you a real UK delivery address at our secure warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent. Shop any UK retailer, consolidate your purchases and we forward everything to your address anywhere in Turkiye — with full customs documentation prepared on every shipment.

Shop Any UK Retailer and Ship to Turkiye

Your free Send2Hub UK address gives you access to the full range of UK online retail — including stores that do not offer direct shipping to Turkiye. Popular UK brands that Send2Hub customers in Turkiye regularly shop include ASOS, Next, Marks and Spencer, Boots, The Body Shop, Barbour, Ted Baker, John Lewis, Amazon UK and many more. Use your Send2Hub address at checkout as you would any UK delivery address — your parcel arrives at our warehouse, is automatically photographed, weighed and measured on arrival, and full details appear in your real-time account dashboard immediately.

Save money with parcel consolidation. Hold multiple UK purchases in free temporary storage and combine them into a single outbound shipment before forwarding to Turkiye. Consolidation typically reduces international shipping costs by 40-60% — one shipment, one customs declaration, one delivery. Given Turkiye's very low de minimis threshold, careful planning of consolidated shipment values is particularly important. Learn more on our parcel consolidation page.

If a UK retailer does not accept your Turkish payment card or does not offer international checkout, our Shop & Ship service can purchase items on your behalf.

Turkiye Customs and Import Information

Turkiye's customs system is administered by the Turkish Customs Administration under the Ministry of Trade. Turkiye applies a comprehensive import tax framework including customs duty, VAT (KDV) and in some cases Special Consumption Tax (SCT). Understanding the current rules — particularly the very low de minimis threshold for personal courier imports — is essential for planning shipments to Turkiye.

De Minimis Threshold — Very Low for Courier Shipments

Turkiye operates one of the lowest de minimis thresholds in the world for personal courier imports. The duty and VAT-free limit for non-commercial personal shipments via courier is currently EUR 27 CIF — which includes the cost of goods plus shipping and insurance. This means almost all UK parcels forwarded to Turkiye via courier will exceed this threshold and attract customs duty and VAT. We recommend factoring in import costs when planning purchases and using our customs duty estimator for an indication of charges. Turkish customs thresholds have been adjusted multiple times in recent years — we recommend verifying the current threshold before shipping.

Customs Duty Rates

Turkiye applies customs duties based on a 12-digit GTIP (Gumruk Tarife Istatistik Pozisyonu) code — the Turkish extension of the international HS code system. Duty rates range from 0% to 20% on the CIF value depending on the product category. Goods genuinely originating in the UK may qualify for reduced or zero customs duty rates under the UK-Turkiye Free Trade Agreement — provided accurate documentation and a statement of origin are included. Goods manufactured outside the UK and forwarded via Send2Hub do not qualify for FTA preferential rates.

VAT (KDV) on Imports

Turkish VAT (Katma Deger Vergisi — KDV) applies to all imported goods above the de minimis threshold. The standard rate is 20% for most consumer goods. Reduced rates of 10% apply to basic food products, medical supplies and certain textiles, and 1% applies to agricultural products and newspapers. KDV is calculated on the CIF value plus any applicable customs duty.

Special Consumption Tax (SCT)

In addition to customs duty and VAT, Turkiye applies a Special Consumption Tax (Ozel Tuketim Vergisi — OTV) to four product groups: alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, petroleum products and certain motor vehicles and luxury goods. SCT rates on alcohol and tobacco in Turkiye are among the highest in the world. SCT is calculated on the CIF value plus customs duty and applies before KDV is calculated on top.

UK-Turkiye Free Trade Agreement

The UK and Turkiye have a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which entered into force in January 2021. Under the agreement, goods that genuinely originate in the UK benefit from reduced or zero customs duty rates when imported into Turkiye — broadly replicating the preferential access previously available under the EU-Turkey Customs Union framework. To claim preferential rates, a statement of origin or certificate of origin must accompany the shipment. Goods manufactured outside the UK do not qualify.

Turkish ID Requirement and Customs Clearance

Turkish customs requires the recipient's Turkish ID number (TC Kimlik No) or tax number (Vergi Kimlik No) on customs documentation for most courier shipments. Recipients must authorise either the carrier or a licensed customs broker (BSO) to handle clearance. For B2C shipments above EUR 1,500 CIF, a licensed customs broker is mandatory — the carrier cannot process clearance independently. Please ensure your Turkish ID number is provided when requesting a shipment through your Send2Hub account.

Required Documentation

Standard documentation for customs clearance in Turkiye includes a commercial invoice with accurate item descriptions, 12-digit GTIP codes, declared CIF values and country of origin, a packing list and an air waybill or bill of lading. Send2Hub prepares all standard customs export documentation for every outbound shipment from our UK warehouse.

Restricted and Prohibited Items

Turkiye restricts or prohibits the import of weapons and ammunition, controlled substances, certain food and agricultural products, counterfeit goods and telecommunications equipment not approved by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK). Electronics with radio transmitters require BTK approval for commercial import. Visit our prohibited and restricted items page for full details.

Frequently Asked Questions — UK to Turkiye Shipping

Can I shop UK retailers that don't ship to Turkiye?

Yes. Your free Send2Hub UK address gives you access to any UK retailer — including those that only ship domestically within the UK. Use your Send2Hub address at checkout, your parcel arrives at our Stoke-on-Trent warehouse and we forward it to Turkiye. If a UK retailer does not accept your Turkish payment card, our Shop & Ship service can purchase items on your behalf.

What customs charges apply when shipping from UK to Turkiye?

Turkiye's de minimis threshold for personal courier imports is very low — currently EUR 27 CIF including shipping. Above this, customs duty (0-20% depending on product) and VAT (KDV) at 20% apply. For UK-origin goods, reduced duty rates may apply under the UK-Turkiye FTA. Use our customs duty estimator for an indication of your total charges.

Does the UK-Turkiye Free Trade Agreement reduce customs duty?

Yes — for goods genuinely originating in the UK. The UK-Turkiye FTA provides reduced or zero customs duty rates for qualifying UK-origin goods with a statement of origin. Goods manufactured outside the UK and forwarded via Send2Hub do not qualify for FTA preferential rates.

Do I need to provide my Turkish ID number?

Yes. Turkish customs requires your TC Kimlik No (Turkish ID number) or Vergi Kimlik No (tax number) on customs documentation. Please provide this when requesting a shipment through your Send2Hub account. For shipments above EUR 1,500 CIF, a licensed customs broker must handle clearance — the carrier cannot process independently.

Can I consolidate multiple orders before shipping to Turkiye?

Yes. Hold multiple parcels in free temporary storage and combine them into a single outbound shipment — saving 40-60% on shipping costs. Free storage: 30 days Individual, 45 days Business, 60 days Premium. Note that given Turkiye's very low de minimis threshold, consolidated shipments will almost certainly attract customs duty and VAT — factor this into your total cost planning.
